Amanda Knox lands President Obama’s literary agent, Robert Barnett, to peddle her tell-all book
Amanda Knox, 24, whose conviction for killing her roommate in Italy was overturned reportedly signed a deal with a high-powered literary agent. The news comes just after Knox's ex-boyfriend also signed a book deal.
Knox signed her deal with Robert Barnett of Williams & Connolly, a D.C.-based firm, where Barnett is the agent of choice for folks like Barack Obama, Bill Clinton, Hilary Clinton, George W. Bush and Barbara Streisand.David Marriott, of the Gogerty Marriott PR Firm, confirmed the deal to
Seattle Weekly just now, and sent over this brief statement from from the Knox family.
Amanda Knox today announced she has engaged the services of Washington, D.C. attorney, Robert Barnett of Williams & Connolly to represent her in discussions with various book publishers who have expressed an interest in Amanda writing a book. Mr. Barnett will also assist Amanda and her family in evaluating other opportunities as well.
Earlier today, I wrote about Knox's ex-boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito, and listed 10 questions that I hope his book answers.
As for Knox (whom, like Sollecito, I don't believe is guilty of murder), she has left her own list of unanswered questions--some related to the case, some related to her experience during the trials--which include:
1. Why did you and Raffaele turn your phones off the night of the murder?
2. Why did you falsely accuse Patrick Lumumba of the crime? And why, even after he was arrested, did you never tell authorities that you made a mistake and that he should be freed?
3. Why do you think the prosecution focused on attacking your character far more than they focused on Raffaele?
4. In your opinion, what was the single most ridiculous thing that was ever printed in the tabloids about you?
5. Why didn't you keep in touch with Raffaele while you were in prison or afterward?
6. The evidence against you was much more plentiful than the evidence against Raffaele. Do you feel at all responsible for Raffaele's conviction?
7. Why did you go with Raffaele to the police station four days after the murder, even though only he was called in for questioning?
8. Why did you bring a mop from Raffaele's house the day after the murder? The leak you said you were trying to clean up was reportedly small enough for a paper towel.
9. Will you go back to Italy if the appeals courts decide that you need to serve more time for falsely accusing Patrick Lumumba?
10. What do you think happened on the night that Meredith Kercher was killed?
