Enjoying her last days of freedom: Kate Middleton skips along the King's Road like any normal 29-year-old

With the sun on her back and the wind in her hair, Kate Middleton had a spring in her step on the King's Road in London today.

And why shouldn't she? The happiest day of her life is just nine days away, when she will finally marry the man of her dreams in front of adoring billions around the globe.

Looking as stylish as ever and rather slender (she wouldn't be the first to diet with wedding dress in mind), Kate appeared as a free as a bird and unencumbered by the trappings of a Queen in waiting.

Astonishingly, she appeared to only have two protection officers in sight - and one was so casually dressed he would have gone unnoticed but for the coat he was wearing on the hottest day of the year.
Miss Middleton will walk up the aisle at Westminster Abbey next Friday to marry heir to the throne Prince William.
She wore a £480 Issa short-sleeved black wrap dress and tan court kitten heels - which she was spotted wearing four years ago - accessorised with her 18-carat sapphire and diamond engagement ring.
The ring's precious stones make it worth £250,000, but the Queen-to be's version, which used to belong to Diana, is valued at £32million.

After graduating from the University of St. Andrews in Scotland, Middleton worked as an accessories buyer for Jigsaw, a British mass clothing store. During her time there, she collaborated with jewelry designer Claudia Bradby on a necklace that's now being reissued for $71.

She's a big fan of Issa

Middleton's go-to designer is the Brazilian born Daniella Issa Helayel, who heads up the Issa label. (Stars like Madonna, Keira Knightley, Scarlett Johansson and Kate Moss also love her work.) Helayel's designs are known for their classic silhouettes and vibrant colors.

Blue is her go-to hue

It's clear that Middleton turns to the color on important occasions. On the day she and Prince William announced their engagement to the world (center), she chose a fittingly royal shade.

Yes, you read correctly: The princess-to-be shops at mass stores! Back in 2007, Middleton wore a Topshop dress on her 25th birthday. The $78 dress was entirely sold out just 24 hours after the photos of her wearing it were released.

Middleton trusts her long brunette strands to The Richard Ward Salon in London. "Our relationship with [Kate] has been built on discretion and trust," the salon said in a statement after the engagement. "Richard and his team intend to maintain this relationship whilst respecting Kate's on-going privacy."

You're much more likely to catch the future princess in knee-high boots than in stilettos. She wears them with jeans, tights and bare legs.

In an interview with Sky News, Middleton fessed up to having a poster of the Levi's jeans model on her dorm wall -- not of Prince William, like many of her peers. No doubt her future husband looks equally dashing in denim.
